There's a feeling you get when you return home after a long period away from home. You never feel it at any other time in your life and, even if you didn't want to come back it feels good. That was what Darren Jakobs was feeling right now as he strolled through the streets of Trollesund. He was wearing a new set of warm fur clothes, his weapons concealed beneath. Zodia was perched on his shoulder as usual, watching all around the pair as they walked through the streets. Streets that they knew, where they felt at home. It was infinitely better that that maze of a city, London. Things were pretty much returning to normal. As soon as the boat had pulled in he'd gone to find a relative. There were always at least one hanging around the town, usually in one of the pubs or bars. Sure enough he ran into his brother after only a couple of hours. Naturally they'd spent the night drowning themselves in alcohol to celebrate his return.

Speaking of pubs and bars, Darren had been spending a large amount of time in them since returning. This wasn't for the usual reasons though, It was the best way to gather information, especially if you wanted to do it without anyone suspecting anything. Buy someone a couple of drinks, get talking and after a while you had as much information as you could get and they were non the wiser. Darren preferred it that way, given the nature of the information he was gathering. Asking people about their views on the magisterium could have some unpleasant consequences. There was a greater visible Magisterium presence in the north that in Brytain. This was probably a good thing though, as it meant there would probably be less non-uniformed personnel.

Darren took a moment to observe the street he was walking down. It was close enough to the sea for the sounds and smells to carry, but there was much more going on. The street was lined with stalls selling various products, most brought in from other parts of the world. The stall owners were busy shouting out their offers to anyone that would listen. The mercenary wasn't really paying attention to any of these though. He wasn't really paying attention to anything. Several times Zodia had warned him that he was about to collide with someone going the other way. He wasn't really thinking about anything, just letting his mind wander. The information he'd gotten so far wasn't all that good, he'd only gotten to talk to the civilians and the occasional trader, none of who had particularly strong feelings about the Magisterium. Oh well, he thought. Maybe I'll find someone decent today.
